Happy Thanksgiving

Dear Diary,
I ve been gone for a long time now..
I have been busy with my finals and work..*yawnnnn*...
I still have 2 finals now eventhough I am done with all of my classes...thats the thing about MBA...we hardly ever get in-class exam, every exam is a take-home exam. I like it this way.. ;)

I will be gone for a month next Sunday..Dec 3 - Jan 5...but I still have a mission to accomplish before I go back home..YES.. I need to do XMAS Shopping..
Soo today (Thanksgiving Day), we are going to MN so that we can go shop on Black Friday.
I know what I want to buy, so hopefully they will have a great deals everywhere.

Last night, we went to Thanksgiving dinner hosted by our Indo friend out in Des Moines. We got there so late..around 6.30pm while that dinner started at 5pm. Well, I told my friend that we would go there right after we were done at work at 5pm, so it's really not our fault. Haha!
Not like most people there, we had to work right until 5pm on Thanksgiving eve..so sad, I know.. Most of my friends are undergrads which means they have a week off from school, while I still have to work eventhough I officially get a week off too.
I just cant let my boss work alone, I love him too much, hahahahha...

Anyhow.. yesterday was soooo empty but yet peaceful..I walked around campus and looked around me..there was not a single nose I found.. I was the only one strolling the campus.. I felt emptiness for a moment there..I am not used to see campus empty like that..I was walking from Gerdin to Library to borrow DVDs..the only people I saw were ladies with a Golden Retriever, Indian guys sitting in front of Hub, and Chinese people in the library.. hahahaha.. very weird indeed..

Well, Im gonna go to MN in 3 hours but I still have to write my paper there since it will be due on next Monday.. oh dear..I hope I can manage between shopping and working..

Me hate this week...why? me have this Finance Final on Sat!!! Hate it!!!
I have been wishing to drop this class since the day before Midterm!!! But yet.. Im still sticking with this class..... I wanted to drop it so bad...but the thought of having to take 5 classes next semester instead of 4 classes made me feel soo reluctant to drop the class...
I gotta tell you, many people dropped this class right after they got the midterm results back..ahiahaha... Eventhough my grade is not satisfying.. I decided to tough it up and suck it up so that I dont have to take 5 classes next semester!

Ahhhhhhh..so here I am now.. it's only Thursday... Counting to Saturday... uh oh..

Well... I have only 2.5 weeks before I ll be gone to my home country. Yet, I still have sooo many things to do...I gotta do xmas shopping which I havent started at all... I have to get my baby spayed..I have to buy books for my mom.. I have to change my cell provider...yada yada yada yadaa...... the list goes on and on..

Where is this xmas spirit?????? Where oh where???

Saturday

Woooo...lots of things going on last Friday and Saturday..first.. at Friday night, I played keyboard for the church. Hmm.. do you know how long it has been since I touched a keyboard?? Very long.. I think it's almost 2 years...DANG...
Before the service, we had practice for about 1.5 hours for 5 songs ...at first, I felt very weird to read the chords from music sheet.. Hmmmm... But, in the end.. everybody said that it was great..well..that's good considering we only practice once for 1.5 hours.
You know.. It felt very weird too...in a good weird.. in fact.. i think i had a dejavu..
I used to play in a music team for my last church...those were a good time.. i miss those people..they are all gone now....all I got is a memory...

well...I thank God that He gave me this opportunity to play again...if Carls had'nt asked me, I would have not played keyboard ever... :P
But.. I had to miss IWeek too...my friends had a band performance right at the same time as I played for the church, thus I couldnt go there and watch them perform.
That's ok though.. I think I did the right thing eventhough it's kinna sad too to not watch them perform since I think that was the last time they can play together...

As far for my Satuday.. I had a presentation in the morning for Finance class..then I had to write a paper and slides for Monday's presentation. Wellllll....so much for a fun weekend..
Next week will be my final week, that's why everything will be so hectic..
I dread this coming Saturday's class...final... :(

Tmobile sux??

For those of you who use Tmobile, I have to tell you...the reception here sux so bad!!! I can hardly ever get a reception around my house and the whole West Ames area. If Im lucky, I will get a half bar (super small bar). Then, when you are on in the middle of a call with that tiny bar, you will get a dropped call lots and lots!
I have been using Tmobile for 2 years and thank God my contract has come to an end!!! I called Tmobile to tell them that I want to discontinue my contract and of course, as a good customer-service company, they will ask me why and if they can do anything to make it better.
Yada yada yada.. I told them that I dont get a reception around west side of the city, then the sales associate looked at the coverage map that he has..then he said "Well, according to our map, your area actually have the best coverage" ...EEEEEE!!! WRONG dummy! (note: Im very frustated here, so forgive for my rudeness :P)

Anyhow, so I explained to him that's not the case here. Then, he offered to submit a service request to see if they can fix it. Personally, I dont think they can, because this is like a general problem for all of us who live in this area..maybe they need to build a new tower if they dont want to lose customers here. But hey..why spend some money for tiny bit portion of customer when they can rip the profits from other customers..
Ok.. Im supposed to wait within 72 hours. They will send me a text message informing me if it's fixable or not. I still have 24 hours to wait their decision.

Well..no matter what.. I will switch to either Verizon or Cingular. That's the dilemma now...
Which one is the best?????
I like Cingluar phones...they are way more cool than Verizon's! Plus, you can text internationally! Plus, the features are awesome.. with bluetooth bl abla...while Verizon only provides few phones that can do such thing (higher price). I dont know if Cingular has a great reception coz I dont have many friends who use Cingular to test it out.
But I know Verizon has the best reception ever!!! My bro gets a full bar around my house. One thing that I dont like though is, they cannot send text messages outside US. BUMMER!

Hey guys, I was in the mood to write my previous posting in my native language, Indonesian.. It actually felt really good writing in Indo!!!I might have to submit my previous post to GF! magazine (Christian magazine back at home)..hauhauhaha..

Anyway.. I was just talking about how we all human want something every day of our lives and we always hope that God will grant us anything we want. But, fortunately, that's not always the case. God will grant us something according to His plan and in His TIME, not our time.
I, myself, am longing for a great job when I graduate, with a great salary so I can save some money to buy a house one day, while my other friend is longing for a baby!!! :)
Let's just put our trust in Him and believe that He will provide us in His Time, shall we? I know maybe some of you who read my blog don't believe in God, but I gotta tell you, HE IS REALLLL!!, way more real. So hopefully one day, you will open your heart to Him. amen.

Oh well..Im sorry if I wrote sooo long using my native while I write soo short in English, because I dont feel like writing such a long blog twice!!! hihihhi... It's 2pm now and I am in my office..I will have to do a presentation tonight at 8.30pm for Marketing class.

Hari ini Mony lagi pengen cerita pake bahasa indo ahhh, uda lamaaaaa..malahan kagak perna yak..heuheheue..
Hmmm...hari ini baru bangun bobo, kepala sakit banget...pusingggg..nyut nyut nyuttt...mana ntar jem 12 ada miting lagi...terus ntar malem bakalan presentasi lagi..tapi untungnya ntar presentasi terakhir..horeee...moga2 ntar sukses deh yaa..aminnn.

Mao cerita apa yaa...hmmm topik kali ini..."apa yg lagi kita mao ya?" Mony tau nih..kalo mony seh pengen dapet kerjaan di kota laen di luar Ames ntar pas lulus with gaji yg lumayan jadi bisa nabung buat beli rumah, nyiapin masa depan, ciehhhhhhhhh....
terussss ada lagiii yg lagi pengen banget beli mobil jadinya nabung mati2an.....ada lagiii yang pengen pindah ke kerjaan yg lebih bagus with boss yg lebih baek and wise....ada lagii yg lagi pengen dapet momongannn...ghehehhe itu semua kisah nyata loh dari temen2 Mony yg baru2 ini ngobrol ama mony....wahhh pokoknya banyak banget ya kemauan manusia...masing2 dari kita semuanya saat ini pasti lagi pengen sesuatuuuu..lagi wishing2 ama Tuhan..."kita bakalan dikasih ga ya?", "kapan dong Tuhan dikasihnyaaa, uda ga sabar..."

Eniweiiii...kalo berdasarkan pengalaman ogut nih sih...Tuhan tuh kagak pernah terlambat, tapi juga kagak pernah kepagian dalam ngasih sesuatu buat kita..plusss Tuhan tuhhh ga sembarangan kasihhhh sesuatu buat kita kalo misalkan itu bukan buat kebaikan kita..jadi buat kita2 yg lagi ngidam2 sesuatuuu banget...sabar ajaaaaaa....percaya deh ama Tuhan...buktinya aja selama ini Mony tuhhhh masih bisa di Ames..ahuahua padahal tadinya kan ogut pikir ogut bakalan pulang Indo nih kalo ga keterima MBA di ISU plus dibayarin ama skolah...
Tapi God is Good no matter what.....jadi gini neh ceritanyaa....waktu dulu taon 2005..Mony kan uda pengen berenti kerja dari Citi terus keterima di MBA ISU...wih hepi dong..tapi belon completely hepi gara2 belon dapet Assistantship (semacem scholarship buat bayarin uang skola kita), terusss ampe skolah jalan 2 bulan mony juga belon dapet2..dah ilah..bayangin lah rasa desperadonya kayak apa...terus doa terus lah ama si koko juga bantu cari2..si mami pasti uda doa2 nungging2 dah ahihaihaha..yaa pokoknya papi mami, koko2 pasti bantuin mony doa lah..makasih loh..terus akhirnya si koko bilang ada lowongan di VRAC, kerjaannya mirip ama yg kayak di Citigroup lagi!!! Kebetulan benerrr...ya uda lah singkat cerita akhirnyaaa keterimaa..horeeee.....tapiiiii setelah 2 semester, VRAC tiba2 short of budget..jadinya mony musti berenti dari sana soalnya mereka ga mampu bayarin assistantship lagi..wahhh stress lagi donggggg.. itu bulan May 2006 tuh...terus mony doaaa terus lahh minta assistantship dong Tuhan buat the rest of 2 semesters..nang ning nang ning..terus Mony apply2 semua department di ISU lah, uda muka badak banget..kirim2 imel ke semua Head of Department di ISU nanya2 ada lowongan ga....Sampe ke yg kagak nyambung ama major mony aja, tetep gua apply, ahiahihahia uda desperado apa bole buat...

Ya uda nehhh....nunggu lah selama Summer sembari kerja Internship di Blue Sky Inc. Jadi tiap ari kerjaannya tuh ke kantor terus cek imel sembari berharap dapet imel dari seseorang yg mo interview Mony..hihihihihihi...but nooo....ga ada lowongannn di mana2..cape deh..
Terus ya uda lah..pasrahhh kepada Tuhan YME...mana waktu itu kan mony ud musti keluar duit juga banyak buat beli mobil...wah kalo dipikir2 tuh bener2 deh sutris bener...
FYI neh, kalo misalkan mony ga dapet Assistantship..mony musti bayar $10,540.00 but 1 semester tuition..ahiahiahhaha..seru kannnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn

Wow you guysss...do you see the food?? I loveee the party.. great food.. we had a lots of fun. We did gift exchanges too.. I got peal necklace (not real pearl!!) :P We watched a dvd after we ate...Indonesian Movie...it's still funny watching Indo Movie.. I can't get used to it.. sometimes when the actor can't really act, eventhough it's on sad scene, I will laugh so hard until my tummy hurts. For instance, yesterday, the guy was trying to cry coz there were lots of sad scenes in the movie...I think he was trying too hard..but still no tears were produced..ahuahuahaa.. anyway...it was an ok movie.

It's Monday againnnnnnnnn!!!!! goodnessss!!! I have a presentation tomorrow and I haven't made any slides for it yet. I have only 2 more weeks to go until I'm free..that's why..the laziness starts to kick in..And I'm still having a bit of the flu bug...hmphhh..

Anyway, that's it for today, Im not in the mood to tell story. Ohhhhhh one more... I forgot to say that last Saturday, my bestest friend, Enen, flew back to our home country. Sooo sad... She called me on Friday night but I didn't hear the phone rang, so I tried to call on Sat morning during my class. But it was too late... the phone was already disconnected. Wow, Friday is here...that means weekend is here! but unfortunately, not yet for Mony...coz she has Saturday morning class and she has to make a presentation about Crude Oil Market (Finance Class). Out of every class I take this semester, this Finance class is the one that I like the least. I like the professor though, he is a super kind person. It's just he explains things really fast, maybe because there are many Advanced students in the class. But I and few of other students are really beginners in Futures, Options materials. I was actually going to drop this class..hahaha...right after the midterm..but then, I thought, I only have like 4 weeks to go in this class, I might as well suck it up. LOL And as of now, I only have 2 more classes to go and then Final. Brrrrr....that small word "Final" gives me chill.....

Anyhow..as you probably know.. tomorrow we will have a Potluck Party at Destri's house. So far, there are 14 ladies who will join us. Woo hoo.. Quite a lot..that means there will be plenty of food..yummmmm... I am sorry for the boyz because they are not allowed to join the party!! But, I will get something for to go for them if there is any leftover. Hihihihi.
We will also have Gifts Exchange..yum yum.. I haven't bought it yet.. Any ideas???

Last night, -s- cooked a lots of food! Oh gosh...with a help from -Y- and lil' bit me (me as assistant chef, haha), we made 5 dishes for 6 people!!! Those are: fried rock salt shrimp (DA BEST), miso soup with tofu, stir fried beef (taste almost like bulgogi), shrimp paste kangkung (dont know what we call "kangkung" in english", it's a vegetable), and stir fried vegetables with sausage (Yummy)!
Wowww... it's really too bad no body brought camera with them last night. It was all deeeelicioussssss.... I like especially the Fried Rock Salt Shrimp and the Shrimp Paste Kangkung... YUM YUM...
After having a great dinner, I made some tea for all of the boys because they were not feeling very well too (WARNING: flu bug is everywhere near us). We chatted and watched a movie. I don't know what's the title but it's about a story about Indian family who is looking for men for their daughters to marry. One of the daughters finally marry an American. It's a comedy and as you all know, Indian movie is full of dancing and singing.. hihihii..
But this movie is cool, I know this because the boyz watch this movie without blinking their eyes (the Indian girl is very pretty).

I am soo bumped out!!! I wrote a longggg paragraph for the blog but then suddenly the electricity was cut off by the LandLord!!*Sigh* I lost every of my words. :(

Anyway.. I woke up this morning at 9.30 am. Actually Chloe woke me up twice this morning, at 7.30am and right at 9.30am. She always barked in the morning to be let out from her crate to do her business. But this morning, why did it have to be so early??? hmphhhh.. I was still feeling super sleepy because of Nyquil that I took last night. It really knocked me out right away after I drank it. I wonder if someone gets addicted to Nyquil? Even now.. I can still feel the effect of this particular drug..I am feeling very lightheaded and my body feels very weak. :(
Today, Im not going to work either just because I think it's better to stay at home to avoid the cold weather bla bla. So Im gonna do my presentation slide and homework for Saturday's class at home. Ohh, and I skipped my night class last night! hehehehe.. I'd like to thank my teammates for letting me stay at home. I cannot imagine having to sit in the class for 3.5 hours in that condition. :P So thanks, Sach and Deb!

Hmmm.. I was actually going to talk about Long Distance Relationship, but now my brain draws blank. I just want to know can couples really survive eventhough they are separated thousands miles? I used to think that we can still survive LD as long as we love each other. hahahha.. but now Im really skeptical. What do you think? I used to have LD too with my first bf for 2 yrs but that didn't work out. And my brother used to have a gf that he knew since we were still in elementry school. They had to go to different college so they were LD for5 years out of 7 years together. But that didn't work out either for some stupid reasons (yes, I think it is stupid!). His GF gave my bro ultimatum either to come to Singapore (where she lives) so they can be together or stay in US but with the price of breaking up. Of course.. my brother was so wise.. he wanted to try to look for experiences in US, getting a job and tried to earn money for his future family, so they had to break up. Talk about a broken heart!!! But amazingly, the girl managed to date someone else 2 weeks after they broke up. Haha!!!Good for herrrrrrrrr!!! At least I dont get to deal with her anymore. Bye..byee...
Now, it's been almost 2 years since they broke up and and my brother has this great job. He travels a lot around the world for the business and he gets to stay close to me. hihihihihi....
Anyhow..that's why I am more skeptical about LD right now and I don't think I can do it anymore unless we really have a strong commitement. But, what defines a "long distance"? If it's around Midwest, I sure can handle it. But if it's across the ocean, it's going to be tough. Hmphhhh... Sooo.. I dont know.... what do u think??? What do we have to do if our loved ones move to another country or far-far-away state? Should we break up or hang onto it?

It's not a surprise though since the weather here is not so great..keep changing from not-so-cold to super-cold. Yesterday, it was fine in the afternoon, that's why I went out with my regular jacket (not the puffy one) because I thought the weather was so nice. But in the evening, it turned into super duper cold and windy too!!! I hate Winter!! :(
I have been living here for what, 6 years? But yet, I still never can get used to this cold weather. Everytime Fall comes, I dread the feeling of having to wear the puffy jacket plus gloves and hat...Makes me look like a walking pillow..hhuhuh.

Anyway..I know someone is on the bed feeling sick too right now..Wishing you well :) Hope Nyquil works out for you very well. I know it does me good. :P So, maybe I should take Nyquil too tonight to knock me out :P

I have no story today..Im just kinda stressed out because of the workloads I have to do for the rest of the week and next week. Plus, my home phone is broken for some reason. *Sigh* That means a bad thing because I hardly ever can get a signal from my cellphone. So, if my home phone is broken, that means, I will be separated from the world since I cant call anyone. :(
Too many things go wrong in one week. Yesterday's presentation didn't go as well as we'd like to be. We got the most boring and horrible article ever. I bet no one in the class read the article because when I first tried to read it, I didn't have the slightest idea what the heck this guy is talking about. Thus, yesterday when we threw questions to the class, the silence was overpowering us. LOL.
Even the substitute teacher did not read the article...amazing..so she didn't have anything to say either. I guess maybe that's good? I dont know.. but we were hoping the class would enggage more in the discussion.
Oh well...*hat-coooooo* excuse me.... I better take a rest now ...otherwise Im going to have to lie on the bed for a long period of time.
