Man takes own life after killing Casey's clerk
Ames police said a man who shot and killed a convenience store clerk today took his own life after stealing a squad car and leading police on a high-speed chase.Police said the man just before 4:30 p.m. shot a female clerk at a Casey’s General Store at 428 Lincoln Way, just south of the business district in Ames. The clerk, who has not been identified, died at the store. The man who shot her allegedly was her boyfriend, according to a news release sent out by officials with Casey’s General Stores Inc. The man has not been identified by police.The man fled the area on foot, and employees and customers at the store were able to describe the man to police, said Cmdr. Jim Robinson with the Ames Police Department.Nevada police later spotted the suspect riding a bicycle near the Lincolnway Energy ethanol plant. An officer tried to stop him, but a gunbattle broke out and the man got away in the officer’s squad car.
The Iowa State Patrol and other officers chased the man on U.S. Highway 30 east of Nevada. Officers stopped the car by deflating its tires with stop sticks, and the car went into a ditch near State Center about 6:15 p.m., said Lt. Jeff Dodds of the Story County sheriff’s office.“It’s looking like he committed suicide immediately by shooting himself,” Dodds said.No one else was injured in the chase and gunfire.The Casey’s store is closed until further notice, company officials said.

Whoa.. I am so glad I did not go to Target yesterday (Target is located near where the shooting took place).
Luckily, during the shooting, I was lazying around in the house, cooked 'Nasi Tim Ayam' and watched 'Kawin Kontrak'. hehehehehe..
